Presentation highlighting examples of phenology observing and analysis in UG courses

In collaboration with several wonderful co-authors, I delivered a presentation at the Botany 2026 meeting where I highlighted several examples of how instructors have incorporated phenology data collection and/or analysis into undergraduate courses. The examples include the work of Kim Quillan (Salisbury Univ), Tiffany Schreiver (Western Mich U), and Emily Mohl (St Olaf College). The diverse examples show how instructors can opt to focus primarily on data collection or data analysis or both, and how phenology can be a brief component of a course (eg, 1-2 class periods) or the focus of the entire semester. Further, the examples show how integrating phenology can be a great way to get students outside, doing hands-on work, and interfacing directly with a facet of climate change impacts.
